About EMDR therapy in a nutshell
Maybe you've come a long way.
Maybe you've meditated, breathed, talked a lot, openly, honestly.
Maybe it even seemed like something had moved.
But deep inside, there's still a deep-rooted tension.
That invisible shadow that sometimes returns in dreams, sometimes in a quiet moment of the evening when everything seems fine.
Just not on the inside.
Or maybe it seems like you're not so bad. It's like you have everything, the whole environment "works" and functions well enough, but inside you want to pack yourself in an old drawer and lock yourself in an old dresser, and never come out again.
If this sounds familiar, I want to gently say: maybe it's time to look at that inside differently.
What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapeutic method that helps to process and release past events that are stuck in the body, nervous system, and images..
EMDR therapy uses not only eye movements but also other stimulation that affects both hemispheres of the brain - sounds and tapping/painting.tapinimas.
It is not just "talk therapy", but a journey through feelings, images, and body memory, when the therapist accompanies you safely and gently - like an experienced mountain guide.
How does it work?
Kai patiriam traumas, mūsų sistema kartais „užstringa“: negalim nei pabėgti, nei išjausti iki galo, nei pamiršti.
Some experiences remain – like objects scattered all over the house, which we trip over, we can’t breathe freely and they remind us of unpleasant stories that the body still sees and reacts to.
You don’t go into painful details – a crumb, a feeling, a sensation is enough – for something to move deeper. I’m there – like a guide and companion, supporting and knowing where it’s safe to lean on.
Why do people choose EMDR?
You don’t have to repeat everything over again. In some cases, you don’t even need words – what you feel is important.
Faster changes. For some people, EMDR is what “finally worked” after years of trying.
It’s scientifically proven. It works not only subtly – but also in reality: from everyday stress to long-term anxiety or self-doubt.
Kaip atrodo sesijos?
- First, we get to know each other. I listen to your story, your rhythm.
- Then I learned how to support myself when feelings and body sensations arise – they are like internal sources of strength that you can always return to.
- Finally – the processing begins. Quietly, gradually, together – like a journey through memories, only no longer alone.
Who can it help?
EMDR is suitable for those who:
– have experienced violence, accidents, loss or illness
– no longer distinguish whether the anxiety arises “here and now” or is an old story that is coming back
– have negative beliefs that do not allow them to enjoy small joys
– feel that there is an inner part that is still stuck in the past.
Healing may not be a straight path – but when you know that there is a person next to you who has walked similar paths many times, everything becomes easier.
If you want – we can talk.
And if this method seems right – let's travel together.
Lėtai, švelniai. Bet užtikrintai.
